Engaged by a local construction company, CPL was asked to paint 4 interior classrooms that were being converted into an open plan design. Window and door joinery was replaced and new Autex fabric was applied to the walls.

This was the first time in CPL history – or any known history for that matter, that a painting company was asked to paint the entire interior, exterior and roofs of a school all at once. Of course CPL was happy to oblige. It did take around 12 months to complete but now the school is looking fresh until the next time.

We jumped on the Book-A-Bach website and took up lodgings in Waihi, Whanagmata and Whitianga for 3 months. Half the team moved down the line for the time we were there, the other half came and went as we needed them with the larger parts of the job. Painting a supermarket is no easy task, but painting 3 at the same time – now thats where the expertise and superior project management of CPL was required. We painted the restaurant NEO when they had the roof top tenancy. Queens Arcade is one of our favourite places to paint.

During the Covid lockdown of 2020 many large retail stores and services were closed to the public. This gave the owners an opportunity to do some much needed maintenance and freshening up. CPL had quoted painting work at Dressmart for years but the constraints of shopping hours made it difficult to find a window to carry out the work. With the shops empty and the streets cleared, CPL had the “run of the mill” to complete the project. CPL washed, prepared and painted the entire exterior of the Dressmart Onehunga during the lockdown. CPL utilised a number of different elevating work platforms (EWPs) machines to complete all the height work. Dressmart Onehunga now looks smart!

Countdown Henderson was a flagship project for CPL in 2021 as a large and prominent building in Henderson’s Lincoln Rd. The colour scheme was to be changed to a new Countdown Green and a multitude of greys in vertical stripes. The team worked hard and long to complete this work with no issues and 100% client satisfaction.

After a structural upgrade, the shopping centre exterior needed a visual update. CPL worked with the property manager to treat rust, fill cracks, polish steel and apply a 2 pack coating to high wear areas. This approach minimises the need for ongoing maintenance while maximising the performance of the paint.

Being a vacant building for a couple of years the owner of this property decided to convert the tenancy into a medical centre including Doctors Clinic, Pharmacy and Dental Clinic. CPL prepared and painted the structural steel around the exterior of the buildings.

CPL was asked to paint Huia House, which was the old hospital-turned-university lodgings. A full Interior and exterior repaint of this 11-story building on Grafton Rd. 440-bedroom doors, corridors, stairwells, common areas and amenities. We even helped an artist paint a mural over the entire north facing 11 story elevation.

In 2022 CPL was asked to paint the level 3 and ground level soffits. After many years of water ingress problems, the soffit had copped it the worst. We scraped, sanded, filled, primed and painted the existing soffits hoping to save them. Only time will tell now. In the future some sheets will need replacing but until then, it looks great.
